New Direction Costume Choices

As I have changed my idea my costume choices have changed, due to my idea having the female signifying danger I want her to wear a piece of red clothing which stands out, which is a technique also used in the film Submarine, I want my male to deeply contrast this by wearing dark clothing as shown below.

Potential Band Names

I have brainstormed some ideas for the name of the fictional band for who my music video is for as well as album titles for the digipak/poster release. Brackets indicate the source of inspiration and bold indicates my final choice.

My chosen band name is Eminence Front, I like this firstly because it is not some generic overused name with "The" placed before it, this gives it more character immediately also the meaning of the phrase Eminence Front is about pretentiousness and the way people try to hide their feelings and put on a front this ties in well with my song choice "Temptation greets you like a naughty friend".

New Direction/Idea

I've taken quite a dramatic step of changing my idea for my video, having not yet filmed my video has enabled me to do this without major issues,I will post new costume and storyboard posts, I watched the film Submarine and was inspired by some of the scenes, such as the opening title scene were each shot is like a photograph, this combined with the realization that my original idea wasn't that strong also the ambitiousness and logistics of it would make it far too difficult to execute to a high standard as I had 5 cast members who all lived in completely different places none of which were close to my filming location, I consider myself a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to work such as this so there was no way I could go through doing something knowing it wouldn't be that good. My new idea consists of a change of song and locations, My new filming locations will be a area surrounding a train bridge in Hull and a nearby forest area, the new song I will use is "Temptation Greets You Like Your Naughty Friend" by Arctic Monkeys, this song is about how temptation is always present (for some anyway) and it's not always easy to walk away from. People have their reasons why they are tempted and some will always finds ways to justify their behavior. The Audience profile of my chosen song is the same as my original idea.My cast will consist of 1 male character, 1 female and 1 person who will only have their mouth on show as the lead singer, I have made an example of this technique below 

Using this technique I will have only have the lead singer singing the song on the chorus with just his mouth on display, in the black pains I may also add other images during the video which I feel will give quite attractive, abstract look. The narrative to the video will be about a man who is tempted by a female but has unknown reasons to the viewer why he cant be with her, this female is then in the head of the male protagonist and he keeps imagining her in places during everyday life and the whole concept of temptation playing on his mind linking back to the song meaning. The female will wear a red jacket to connote danger. An example of the linking to the song meaning to the narrative is that the word "temptation" is repeated in the song 4 times as part of the verses, every time this is sung the word "temptation" appears on everyday objects in the male characters filmic world such as on signs, shopping lists and on his phone screen but as he looks again in time with the music it is no longer there this then shows how the female is playing on his mind and how she is messing with his head. This idea should be simple to execute and film, I think if done properly it will look very effective. I realise it is a gamble to effectively start over but I  feel that I had no real passion for my original idea and therefore was struggling with motivation were as now I am waiting to get a camera and will be filming as soon as possible as I believe in this idea, also with the reduction of cast it will be easier to film also the people I have chosen to be in the video live close together and to me so will once again eradicate the problems I had with my earlier idea.
